7 Interior Trend Predictions for 2025

As 2025 arrives, our interior design team looks ahead to the emerging trends set to shape and fill our homes in the coming year, from designs inspired by nature and colours, to the impact of fast fashion.

Curved furniture and organic shapes

We’ll continue to see the influence of nature in interior design through organic shapes and gentle curves. Curves echo the natural world more than rigid lines, so to help soften a space, curves are particularly useful in a small room to create the illusion of more space.

Colour palettes inspired by nature

We’re likely to see a lot more warm, earthy tones like terracotta, dark brown, and olive green, particularly in cushion fabrics, painted walls, and artwork. This is reflected in Pantone’s Colour of the Year, ‘Mocha Mousse’. It’s a bronzy brown that is said to be an ‘unpretentious classic’ ‘infused with subtle elegance and earthy refinement’.

“This trend lends itself to those wanting to add warmth to their home in place of the grey tones we’ve seen so popular for many years.”

Colour drenching

This is a trend we’re already seeing a lot more of and is the process of using one colour to paint all walls, woodwork, and ceilings. It’s a very effective way of creating impact and a cosy interior space, especially if you choose dark, moody tones.

Double drenching

In contrast, we’re also expecting to see a rise in ‘double drenching’ – a paint effect that uses two or more colours to create an impactful space. The colours have a common colour strength but are different in hue. For example, a bold blue could be used for the walls and ceiling while a similarly bold green can highlight the woodwork in a room. Using analogous colours – colours that sit next to each other on the colour wheel – creates the contrast without being overwhelming.

Quiet Luxury

A trend that started in fashion, this will continue to gain traction in the interior space too. It’s an aspirational look that leans into the desire for better quality materials and products. Think muted colours, subtle detailing, bespoke furniture, high quality materials; all creating a sophisticated and timeless feel.

Bold stripes

Stripes continue to be popular in design and are particularly easy to incorporate via paint effects and in accessories such as cushions, vases and rugs. While stripes have never fallen out of fashion, the bold stripe is a modern take on it that creates a fun visual impact, especially when seen in contrasting colourways.

Rejection of trends

Our final trend almost calls for this blog to be obsolete, but it does shine a light on the continuing influence of sustainability and the impact fast fashion has on the environment. Instead of buying into the latest trends, this concept is all about making your own space a true reflection of yourself, your history, and your values. Rejecting fast furniture and instead slowly buying homeware via secondhand sources, inheriting family pieces and saving up to buy that one statement quality item creates a home that is not just unique and comfortable but also celebrates your own aesthetic and lifestyle.
