Clayton and Company has maintained expertise in hotel design and refurbishment ever since Jane Clayton secured some of our earliest contracts over forty years ago.

We specialise in independently owned or small-group hotels, where quality and individuality are important. We design with practicalities in mind, but always inject originality, memorability and good taste. Style is chosen to suit the architecture and the brand, ranging from traditional to modern, but always with a twist.

You will work with a specialist designer, responsible for every stage of your project.

We understand the legislation around fire and safety and we understand the challenges met by housekeepers, so we design and specify accordingly. Our hotel furnishings can look good long after most hoteliers would expect to replace them.

The complete refurbishment of all 45 bedrooms and suites and all public areas at The Royal Crescent Hotel were carried out to perfection by Clayton & Company. It was a massive task and from winning their pitch against other top London designers, through to the completion of the work two years later, every aspect of the job was handled professionally, efficiently and with patience and humour.
