Tramworks Concierge

North Finchley

Open-plan living room with yellow sofa and geometric wallpaper in Abri Group show home, Maidenhead.

Client: Taylor Wimpey

Location: North Finchley, London

Project: Concierge

A heritage-inspired concierge interior designed for Taylor Wimpey’s Tramworks development in North Finchley, blending industrial influences with warm contemporary detailing to create a welcoming and functional space for residents and visitors alike.

Inspired by the Building’s History

The design concept drew inspiration from the site’s history as a former tram service station, subtly referencing its heritage through vintage London Tramways artwork, transport-inspired details and industrial architectural elements. Exposed ceilings and raw structural features were balanced with softer finishes to create a space that feels both authentic and contemporary.

Creating Functional Zones

Designed to support a variety of resident needs, the concierge interior was carefully divided into distinct yet connected zones. A bespoke concierge desk creates a strong focal point on arrival, while integrated workspace seating and relaxed lounge areas provide flexible spaces for residents to work, wait or meet informally. Layered lighting and considered circulation help the space feel intuitive, functional and welcoming throughout.

Balancing Industrial and Welcoming

Industrial detailing was softened through the introduction of warm woods, textured upholstery and a calming green palette to create a more inviting atmosphere. Feature lighting, contemporary furnishings and layered materials help balance the building’s industrial character with the comfort and warmth expected from a modern residential development.

The result is a concierge space that feels both practical and characterful — creating a memorable first impression while supporting the day-to-day experience of residents and visitors alike.
